Exam Photo Rules & Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about photo dimensions, DOP dates, and file size compliance
SSC (CGL, CHSL, MTS, GD) Rules
SSC mandates a clean 3.5 × 4.5 cm photograph with white or light background. Photos must have candidate full name and Date on which the Photo was taken (DOP) printed clearly at the bottom strip. File size must be between 20 KB and 50 KB.
UPSC Civil Services & NDA Rules
UPSC requires a square 350 × 350 pixels photo where the candidate's face covers exactly 75% of the photo area. Head must be clearly visible from hair crown to chin. File size must stay between 20 KB to 300 KB.
IBPS & SBI Bank PO/Clerk
IBPS and SBI mandate 200 × 230 pixels dimensions with file size strictly between 20 KB and 50 KB. Photo must be recent with clear facial recognition and light background.
Why add Name & Date on Photo?
Recruitment commissions require the date of photo (DOP) to verify that the photo is recent (within 3 months). Having your full name printed eliminates identity mix-ups during verification and biometric screening.
Is my photo uploaded to servers?
No. Everything works directly inside your web browser. Your photo stays on your device and is never uploaded or saved on any remote server.
How does Target KB Compression work?
We adjust the image quality step by step to give you the clearest possible photo while keeping the file size strictly below your selected KB limit, so the exam portal accepts it without error.
