Selection Process Explained
The full selection procedure has four stages, and candidates need to clear each one to get the final job.
- Written Examination – Paper 1 (General Hindi) and Paper 2 (General Studies)
- Interview – based on written exam performance
- Physical Efficiency Test (walking test)
- Medical Examination and document verification
Written Exam Pattern
| Paper | Subject | Questions | Marks | Duration | Marking |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Paper I | General Hindi (qualifying only) | 50 | 100 | 1 hour | +2 correct, -0.2 wrong |
| Paper II | General Studies (GK, Current Affairs, Science, History, Geography, Maths) | 100 | 300 | 2 hours | +3 correct, -0.3 wrong |
Paper 1 is only qualifying in nature and does not count towards merit, while Paper 2 marks decide the final merit list along with interview marks. Candidates scoring 6 times the number of vacancies in each category will be called for interview, which carries 50 marks.
Physical Efficiency Test (Walking Test)
This is a unique part of this recruitment that many other government jobs do not have.
| Candidates | Distance | Time Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Male | 25 km walk | 4 hours |
| Female | 14 km walk | 4 hours |
This test is qualifying in nature, so even a topper in written exam and interview will be rejected if they fail the walking test.
